[He would be lying if he said he wasn't affected. Dumbledore stares far too long at the small piece of paper, holding it tightly in his fingers as a well of conflicting emotions rises in his throat. The colors of the petals are beautiful and fiery, like phoenix flames, and he knows without knowing that that's why he picked them.

He saves the note somewhere safe in his desk, making sure to keep it flat and unwrinkled. The flowers are put in a vase in his room, where they will stay until they dry and he can press them between pages.]

[Despite all the monsters; but let's be honest, that's The Doctor's life. It's when there isn't something like that going on that is harder to deal with - got a ping from Albus that the wedding cake is done and makes his way over there. At the very least has been trying to keep track of when Christmas is.]

[Albus chuckles and smiles at the Doctor's eagerness, opening the door to him and letting him inside.]

[Sitting on his table is a large and yummy-looking, yet definitely homemade by a non-professional, tiered cake.]

[ A box of chocolates with a note that says "Thank you for saving me." ]

[There were a few people Dumbledore aided against the dementors, but he knows who this is from without question. He reads the note with a small, melancholy smile and unwraps the chocolates carefully when he eats them.

It's still not entirely clear where he and Credence stand, but this feels like a nice sign.]

[ The package is unassuming: small and soft to handle, wrapped in plain brown paper but tied with a delicate silvery ribbon. Inside is a hand-made striped scarf in Gryffindor colours, Albus' house.

When worn, the scarf will radiate a low-level warming magic to keep the chilly weather away from its wearer.

Inside is a handwritten note, the verse of one of the Sorting Hat's many songs —]

[Dumbledore smiles widely at the gift and the note attached. He's even more delighted when he feels the charm woven into it, the warmth seeping into his fingers when he starts wrapping it around his neck.

Anytime Dumbledore is seen outdoors for the rest of the winter, he'll be seen with the scarf tied snugly around him, bundled warmly to guard against the chill.]

[An antique journal is waiting for Albus, locked with a pretty key. On the first pages of the gift, the story of the three brothers is written - all from memory - and in impeccable handwriting. Then, after the story is done, a note follows:]

[The gift is sweet, making his heart ache at the sight of it. The handwriting inside is as familiar as it ever was, each loop and stroke the same as the boy he once knew so many summers ago.

He holds it to his chest a long moment after he finishes reading, sitting and drinking in the scent of the leather and paper. When he finishes, he tucks it safely away, pressing Gellert's now-dried flowers between the pages.]

[Seeing Ten looking happy is, admittedly, a relief. After losing Rose and the attack of Aziraphale, it's nice to see the Doctor smile, even if it shifts quickly.]
